The Art of the Scavenge
ReMake Art Show is an annual staple of the Bisbee creative calendar that celebrates the art of assemblage—the transformation of discarded junk into high art.

Hosted by the Central School Project, the exhibition challenges local artists to embrace the art of assemblage—the process of transforming discarded “junk,” manufactured scraps, and found objects into provocative fine art.

The Annual ReMake Art Show is Bisbee’s premier celebration of “creative recycling,” proving that in the Mule Mountains, one person’s trash is another’s masterpiece.

The exhibition challenges the local community of “found-object gatherers” to create works made entirely or in part from materials not originally intended for art.

Artists utilize a wide array of “bereft materials,” including manufactured items, scrap metal, ephemera, and shiny discarded objects.

The show draws inspiration from historic movements like Dadaism and Surrealism, citing masters of assemblage such as Marcel Duchamp, Robert Rauschenberg, and Louise Nevelson.

Hosted by the Central School Project at 43 Howell Avenue, the show typically anchors the late autumn season.
